News!

Hi All

Well, our gig at St George's Hall on 5 November is now confirmed (yes, I know it's bonfire night - I'll get you all a toffee apple) and rehearsals are going really flippin well!

The addition of Jon, our very own drummer, is doing wonders for our sound and this is about to get even better as our bass player steps into the breach next week!

Rehearsals are every Monday, usual place and time so please try to make all of them if you can. I'll make sure the gig is videod and plenty of pictures are taken so watch this space.

National Saxophone Choir of Great Britain, here is your support act - they're gonna blow your socks off!

Pistols News

Hi All

I'm really pleased that our number is growing steadily and that our repertoire is getting so good!
A couple of reminders re upcoming rehearsals:
Monday 24th May is going ahead as normal
Monday 31st May is a Bank Holiday so not on
Monday 7th June, I'm away so not on then either!
From 14th June we're back to normal and subs will be due - £30 to cover the next 6 practices.
Enjoy the break (and hopefully sunshine) but keep practicing!

Samba Soon!

Hi All
Rehearsals are going really well for our Easter Sunday samba performance at the Full Moon/Attic event and it's time to bring in our lovely drummers. Watch this space for extra rehearsal dates. I will also be handing out piles of flyers at next Monday's practice. Please plaster them about, loiter outside pubs and clubs, etc... put them in people's bags/pockets - anything but out-and-out littering!
I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the Sax Pistols newcomers and to my new students too. Welcome aboard (you know who you are, I shan't embarrass you more than I have to)!

We have just over 2 months till the big gig so Sax Pistols rehearsals are now every Monday, for the foreseeable... People performing solo tunes will get the chance to do run throughs with the band/accompanists too nearer the time.

See you Monday!

K'Chevere at The Old Duke last night, 5th Dec '09.

K'Chevere played at The Old Duke last night and we had a great time. The crowd were fantastic and thanks to everyone that came.

Check out these recent recordings on the K'Chevere site - still waiting for the CD to be mastered.

I'm playing with Fromage En Feu this afternoon at Start The Bus in central Bristol so come on down!

Ahh, as the year comes to an end and I'm still waiting for my proper website to kick in, all that remains to be done is to thank all my wonderful students for a great year!
It's been a blast and you have all done some marvelous things - so keep it up!
I know most of us still have lessons and rehearsals to do before the break but we're nearly ready to wind down for a couple of weeks.
The big "Evening with the Sax Pistols" gig will take place in February so please keep up the practice over the festive period as far as you can..
I look forward very much to teaching and performing with you all in 2010.
Have a great festive period y'all.

Gigs and Glory!

Dear All
Well.. the Sax Pistols have now done 3 gigs! Fantastic work all of you. Watch this space for photos and videos as I have chance to load them up here. Carnival was tremendous and the hilarious, rainy performance at Blue Lagoon last Thursday was a sight and sound to behold, I'm sure. Halo was pretty fun too. All in all, a massive thanks to all you players and the wonderful drummers of Ilu Axe Samba too.
