Upcoming Sax Pistols Gigs!

Right! Not long to go now before St Paul's Carnival, so we have some full on rehearsing coming up over the next couple of weeks.
Monday 22nd and 29th June we're doing the usual sessions at the Attic, usual time.
Thursday 25th June and 2nd July we're joining the Ilu Axe drummers at St George Community Centre (In St George) from 20.30 till 22.00 (sorry about the lateness). There will be a full dress rehearsal on the evening of Friday 3rd July too at Circomedia, Portland Square (times tbc).

We have also been invited to play at Halo cafe/bar on Gloucester Road on Thursday 16th July as part of the Drumbank Music School end of term concert! We'll be doing a 20 minute set (needn't just be the samba stuff) so get thinking about what you'd like to perform. I propose sticking to the weekly Monday sessions until that gig is done (only 2 more!).
Thanks for all your hard work guys!! It WILL be worth it!

Sax Pistols!

The Sax Pistols are a fantastic sax ensemble comprising my students, both old and new, who wanted to get a kick*ss band together. They've been together for about 6 months now and are building a brilliant set to start gigging this summer.

Great news is that they've been invited to play St Paul's Carnival this year on 4th July alongside Bloco Ilu Axe samba troupe!!

Rehearsals will take place at the Attic from 18.30 to 20.00 on the following dates:
11th May
18th May (Samba workshop with Kathrine Sowerby )
1st June
15th June.. and others will be added in the lead up to the big debut gig, so watch this space guys!

We have a few new members joining the fold too, so please make 'em as welcome as you always do.

Welcome!

Are you looking for Saxophone lessons in Bristol? Do you want to learn all the techniques to make you a virtuoso at Jazz, Funk, Salsa, Blues or any style?

Rachel Llewellyn-Jones gives fantastic Sax lessons in Bristol with years of professional playing and teaching experience so you can reach your full potential!

Step 1, and by far the most important step of 'em all, is to love music! Step 2 is to contact Rach, get your mits on a sax and get ready to start making a wonderful sound of your own. You don't have to read traditional notation (by far the most important tools for any musician are their ears), you just have to be prepared to put some time and dedication into it. After all, if it was that easy, everyone would be doing it!

Rachel will help you get the tunes from your imagination out of the saxophone using a mixture of written and ear-based techniques.

She also plays and teaches clarinet.

So come on!
